After having two previous disappointing results, Topsham 2nds regained their winning ways.
The first half was lack lustre and they were punished by Ilfracombe being awarded a penalty try due to a tackle off the ball and Topsham seemed to struggle throughout the half. All they could muster was a penalty half way through which was kicked by Nathan Clark. Still unable to gain composure they stuggled and the first half ended with the score 7 points to 3 behind.
The second half started promising with a marked improvement in committment, which proved to be false hope as the visitors scored a converted try as lack of tackling and ball watching contributed to the score. This was compounded by a penalty being awarded and scored. As the gap increased to 14 points daylight dawned and things started to turn around. Fitness was starting to show and Topsham began to gain the upper hand with scores by Ollie Scott (2 tries) with further tries by Steve Davis and Pete Garman. As the closing moments came Ilfracombe were tiring with Topsham on top and in control, completing the turnround, winning 25 points to 17 points
