Our Men finished preseason with two physical and battling forties of rugby. The 1st XVs fought it out in the first half before widespread changes from both sides in the second period effectively made it a completely different game. Our 1s showed more than enough to keep themselves in the contest and for periods dominated possession. Nevertheless we did find ourselves three tries to one down before a superb final fifteen saw us first draw level and then in the final minute of play go ahead.
At half time we made fourteen changes and immediately saw the effects as Exmouth roared out the blocks having made their own personnel switches. We showed our own moments of attacking class but this was Exmouth's forty as they beat us by six tries to three. Its now all eyes to Okehampton and South Molton for the lads involved tonight as league rugby creeps closer.
For the reputation of our kickers we'd like to point out there was no kicking from the tee in these matches...we did not in fact miss seven times.
