Devonport triumphed over our Tempests in a mud bath on the top pitch as the Plymouth side continue to prove a constant thorn in TRFC's side across all the senior sections. The game, as expected with the weather, came down in large periods to a territorial battle that the visitors managed better. Despite a scoreless opening quarter three unanswered tries from Devonport saw them cut loose and lead 0-21 before a fourth score early in the second period killed the contest. This said the second half was more even than the first and a strong Tempest scrum won the ball against the head from which Flo Cobden marked her return by powering over. Services hit back immediately for their fifth to kill any fun of 'Last Try Wins' with the penultimate play of the fixture. A spirited effort against a dangerous and physical Devonport side that deserved their win on the day.
