Far from a classic as both sides will feel they weren't at their best but it mattered not from those of a blue persuasion as we sealed a league double against our Devon rivals. By half time the points were effectively wrapped and under the tree as we raced into a 7-31 lead. Sidmouth provided a much improved threat in the second forty and got their own bonus point via four tries but they never threatened more as we added our ribbons and bows. Nine tries in total for our boys for the second week running with seven different scorers adding to their collections. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of our game was a superb scrum and impressive set piece that competed brilliantly against a big Sidmouth forward pack.
Results elsewhere mean we cut the gap at the top to just a point as Devonport won without a bonus - although it was almost even better as the in-form and much improved St Austell were minutes from winning. Further down Brixham's win over Lydney means the gap to fourth and a spot out of the playoffs is now up to nineteen points although our rivals there have a game in hand.
A much deserved rest and a whole lot of turkey now await with our next league match for the 1st XV on the 10th Jan at home to Royal Wootton Bassett.
