Sidmouth 18-37 Topsham
-Tops spark into life to overcome blackout at Blackmore-
We recorded a big five points on the road in both the league and Cup as we overcame Sidmouth. At 3-3 and with the stormy conditions finally subsided the game took an unusual turn with a floodlight failure after just 20 mins. The stoppage sparked the game into life with Jack Perry scoring the first of our five tries. A charge down allowed Sidmouth to regain the lead before both sides had chances to score again just before the interval but the defensive efforts of both were strong. The points were traded again at the second period with both captains potentially nervous another blackout may see a 60min result final. Thankfully the gremlins stayed away as at that point Sidmouth narrowly led 18-16 but what followed in the final quarter was all tops. Fin Fraser, Christian Edbrooke and Lewis Webb for a second all scored to stretch us into the lead and then clear. A good win which included some really dogged defense on our own line at times ensure the weekend starts just right. We can all take a breath and enjoy our Saturday now.
Tries: L.Webb x 2, C.Edbrooke, F.Fraser, J.Perry

Topsham II 31-34 Exeter Saracens
-Fightback undone by late Sarries winner-
We came agonisingly close to a win in horrendous conditions as Sarries snatched victory in the closing moments. 0-10 at the break and 21-29 down with about ten minutes to go we pushed into a late lead of 31-29 only to conede a final try 31-34. A great game in the circumstances with plenty of talent on display but sadly the days win belonged to Sarries
Tries: H.Moore x 2, O.Walton, E.Jones
Conv: W.Humphreys x 4
Pen: W.Humphreys
