Exmouth earn derby day bragging rights but Tempests ensure we finish strong

Topsham 26-42 Exmouth
-Cockles outclass Tops as we fall to defeat at home-
Our slow starts and porous defence this time proved costly as we slipped to a disappointing home defeat to Exmouth. Despite four tries we shipped six to the visitors to suffer our first loss of the new campaign. In periods we looked sharp and posed some questions to a strong Exmouth side but our momentum was often sapped by some leaky defence and the ease of which the visitors made metres. We take the try bonus point and look ahead to another home match next weekend against the unbeaten Royal Wootton Bassett.

Tempests 25-20 North Dorset
-Santin-Chibbett hattrick and some gutsy defence sets platform for thrilling win-
Our Tempests downed North Dorset in a thriller to secure the five points and get their league season off the ground. Ali Santin-Chibbett scored a superb hattrick alongside tries from Barnett and Rowe as we grabbed our first victory of the new league campaign. Tied 10-10 at the break we scored a vital two quick fire tries as the visitors saw yellow in the fifteen minutes to start the second period. North Dorset roared back but Santin-Chibbett's hattrick completeing score restored our two score advantage. The away side grabbed a late fourth but the clock denied them anything further as we held out for the win.
Tries: A.Santin-Chibbett x 3, I.Rowe, A.Barnett
