Our Tempests recorded back to back wins as they won in Cornwall beating Helston 12-19. Tess Brock scored all three tries as we won a nail biting contest that went the full distance. Tess scored her first early in the first half but the home side fiercely battled back to make it 5-7 at the break. Our inaccuracy in tricky conditions came under the microscope in the second forty as we faced a harder second period playing up the hill and into the wind. Like the first half, the second also started with an early Topsham score. Charlesworth stole a ball in our own 22 and via the hands of Currie and Beacon, Brock finished an almost length of the field counter. A rising penalty count allowed the home side back in and when two quick fire blasts of the ref whilst allowed them to set up a maul in our 22 their second score soon followed. The response from us was instant though as we fully capitalised on a spill from the resulting knock on to score our and Brock's third. As we entered the final fifteen the tension began to rise and with ever growing scrum dominance for Helston we clung on. The game ended up under the shadows of our posts as we superbly held up their attackers in a maul. The following scrum was calmly collected by our half backs and put into touch for a great win on the road.
