For the second week in a row the 2nd XV battled to a win in horrible conditions. Like the Bideford victory, again we scored three tries and nineteen points to help us to the win. It was another great defensive shift in monsoon-esque conditions as we held off a late fightback from the home side. Nico Ferranti had scored two tries either side of a Tegan Furner score to give us a 5-19 lead which looked commanding in the conditions. Sarries produced a late onslaught though that saw them narrow this deficit to just four points with scores of their own in the final fifteen minutes. The boys stayed strong though knowing that the wet ball meant with some disciplined work and patience that the game ending error would eventually come. An impressive win albeit with no bonus point now leaves us a point behind Devonport II with them having a game in hand.
Tries:
N.Ferranti x 2, T.Furner
Conv:
P.Gibbs x 2
