Despite a determined effort we were unable to overthrow Devonport and move atop the table as Services won out 39-29. A bonus point was all we took away from a brilliant battle whilst Devonport stretch to six clear with three games to play. We were slow out the blocks and duly punished as an unhealthy penalty count hampered our efforts. We chased the game playing some nice stuff and having a particularly encouraging day at scrum time but the hosts remained to wily to throw things away. Our defeat and subsequent point was enough to seal a spot in the playoffs though with a home tie still very much in our hands. Its a defeat we'll swifty want to put to bed but also remember as inspiration to try and push us on for what still remains a hugely exciting run in. Three league games to go, all at home, a Devon Shield Final and hopefully a long and successful playoff run.
