The club is shocked and saddened to bring you the news of the sudden passing of former committee member and junior/colts section legend Ian Guy
Dear Friends, By this stage I am sure that most of you will be aware that Ian Guy sadly passed away whilst out cycling from a cardiac arrest last Saturday morning. Ian had a long association with the club from playing as flanker in the 1st XV in the 1990s to coaching his 3 boys Henry, George and Edward from U7 all the way to Colts and then taking on the role of Vice Junior Chair for the last few years. Ian was a great club man and he touched many people in his time at the club. He was very passionate about doing the best for Topsham, whether that be in making sure the playing conditions were as good as they could be through the summer watering programme he organised or in cajoling the right people into the right roles at the club or in organising one of the best tours any Topsham team has been on(I sadly wasn’t!) to Valencia for the junior section. Ian’s passion and clear eye’d focus on what he was trying to achieve made him a formidable ally to have on your side whether that be on the pitch or on in committee room and his energy, work and ridiculous laugh will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with wife Louise, and his son’s Henry, George and Edward at this difficult time. Once we are aware of the details of the funeral arrangements we will post them here. -Graham Smith, Chairman
