Up on the North coast our Tempests got their season off to the perfect start courtesy of a narrow win over Bude. A tight first half saw both teams crash over for two unconverted scores before early in the second stanza the Tempests began to take control. However they were denied a simple and undramatic conclusion to the tie when Bude came fighting back. Two more tries for the home side meant they fought back to within a try for the draw and a potential conversion for the win. This was where the Tempests made their stand though and they did enough to hold our opponents at bay whilst searching for a sixth score of their own. On eighty the fulltime whistle sounded to bring to a conclusion a superb season opener that saw our Tempests earn a hard fought, but invaluable win on the road.
