More Than Rugby: Your Ideal Event Space in Topsham

Topsham Rugby Club is in the historic port town of Topsham, just 3 miles from Exeter City Centre. There's a large on-site car park, a bus stop directly outside, and a train station within a 10-minute walk.

Following renovations in 2025, we now have three versatile indoor spaces and an 18m x 9m marquee. Whether you're planning a conference, a meeting, a roadshow, a gala dinner or a wedding, we have a space to suit. Our in-house catering team takes care of the food, so you can relax and know your event will run smoothly.

Our Spaces

The Estuary Room
Our largest room, with space for up to 150 guests. It has three large screens, speakers linked to the AV system, fast WiFi, air conditioning and plenty of natural daylight. There's also a double-length bar, which can be open or shuttered, and a wood-burning stove to keep things cosy in winter.

The Chairman's Lounge
New for 2025, this is a great space for smaller meetings and events, or as a break-out room. Full-width bi-fold doors open onto an outside grassed area and fill the room with natural light. It has two large screens, fast WiFi and its own bar, and can be reached through its own entrances or via the Estuary Room.

The 1982 Suite
Hire the 1982 Suite on its own, or alongside the Estuary Room for extra capacity or break-out space. It has a large screen, speakers linked to the AV system, fast WiFi and a large double-length window.

Outside Space & Marquee
Our traditional white marquee, with optional window-framed sides, is ideal for larger parties and events. It can be placed in different spots across our grassed areas, so you can make the event your own.

Capacities are for full seating layouts only and don't allow for catering stations, dance floors, staging or extra equipment. Contact us for tailored layout and capacity advice.

Catering

Our in-house catering team provides great-quality food at very reasonable prices. All menus can be adjusted to your preferred flavours and budget, and all dietary requirements can be catered for when booked in advance.

• Breakfast: Full English (plated or buffet), continental buffet, breakfast baps and mini pastries
• Buffets: Choose from the Topsham, Estuary or 1982 Buffet, with desserts available
• Served banquet meals: Starters, mains, desserts and cheese, such as burrata with heritage tomato salad, beef Wellington, seabass fillet and a trio of desserts
• BBQ buffet and hot bowl food: Locally sourced BBQ meats with homemade salads, or hearty dishes such as lasagne, chicken curry, beef bourguignon and chicken & mushroom pie
