home vs Paignton

Sohans report
We started just as we said we wouldn’t!!
“Let’s get the ball out wide after a few phases, as we have a massive pitch to use.”
First few plays, overlaps out wide, & runners up the middle. We missed a couple of definite tries, but managed to make up for it, once we had warmed up properly.
Freddie & Sam were doing some great work at the breakdown, & up the middle, winning us some vital ball. Paignton contested well in all areas, using their 3 big players to maximum effect. The first few times the big guys ran at us, we went too high & a number were getting bumped off, but once we remembered to tackle around the legs, the big guys started to fall, with Ed Ford & Frankie putting in some big hits all day long, blocking Paignton attacks time after time.
Olly was put through a gap in the defence, (after a wonderful pass from Sam) & found his way to the try line once again. Well deserved after such a great performance & topped off with the player of the day award.
Luke & Jayden both used their strength to force themselves over for a couple more tries, but this was all made possible after great teamwork in the rucks & mauls, finally getting the ball out to these guys.
A great result from tough opposition, with our defence playing a huge part in the game.
Well done to Frankie after an outstanding day to take the Best Defence.
Well done everyone, a very fine effort.

Paddys report:
A very different Paignton turned up on sunday to the team we played earlier this season, This time there came meaning business and very much improved.
However we soon got into our game and matched them blow for blow before turning up the skill levels, Ruck to ruck we were dominant and in the loose we started to rack up the points.
All in all a very good performance.
Jaydens pre try celebration really made me smile " good job you managed to score", Great to see a wonderful try from Olly.
Well done all.
You will all need to be on top form this coming Sunday , for what I think will be your hardest game of the year, Tavistock who nearly caused a shock when we played them away, will I am sure be looking to turn that result around on sunday, If you remember it was only when we started to play with all of our team we managed to get the win,
9 players is what we need to play with" not your mate".
I hope it's a lesson we learnt.
