This is our second match for George after he sadly passed away in 2017 prematurely after contracting pulmonary fibrosis. George was a proud Scotsman and found himself in Devon after joining the Royal Marines and being stationed at Lympstone. His passion was rugby which he was still playing until his mid 50s. He played rugby for Topsham 1st team and then went onto skipper the 2nd team. George played in the front row and was big in stature and character and was well liked across the local rugby community and therefore playing our local rivals Exeter Saracens a natural choice. Last year we raised £916 for Action for pulmonary fibrosis and held the memorial game on Calcutta cup game day where last year Scotland beat England which was a fitting tribute to our friend. The game takes place again on Calcutta cup day.
