Honiton IIs 29 – Topsham 0
Topsham’s six wins in a row came to an abrupt halt in this friendly on Saturday. Honiton 2nds, looking for revenge over their early season loss to the second team, fielded a very strong team with only about four players from the first game playing. Topsham, without a full strength side, never really got going and the Honiton pack dominated most of the play throughout the game.
Topsham IIs 19-30 Torquay IIIs
Topsham 2nds - down to a bare 15 players due to unavailable players for this weeks friendlies - put out a team with many in new positions against a Torquay squad of about 25. The Torquay scrum totally dominated in the first half due to experience and a huge weight advantage. Noentheless Topsham kept up with the scoring and with ten minutes to go the scoreline was 19-20. Unfortunately, Torquay scored twice in the last 5 minutes. It was a great learning experience for the young forwards who have not had much chance this year due to the amount of available players. To keep a very strong Torquay team as close as this was something to be proud of
